Nuzlocke Challenge - Day Twenty-Nine

Intro

Just off watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I loved it! I can't wait for next week! Heck, I can't wait to watch it again before I review it tomorrow. This time without baby screaming or interruptions or people at the door...

But this is a Nuzlocke Challenge post so... let's get on with that shall we?

Nuzlocke Challenge - Day Twenty-Nine

Omega

So today I finished off my Mt. Ember run by running into a cave. Since I count inside places as different places from outside places, I caught a Machop. His name is Omega. I also fought a Geodude and two more Machop before getting out of the cave.

At the top of Mt. Ember sits the lovely Moltres. A Moltres who took two Power Points for every Yawn. A Moltres who used up all 11 of my Great Balls and all but one of my 22 Ultra Balls. A Moltres I was really worried about not catching. But I did. That's Legendary Bird Number Three in the bag. And in order... which I did not do on purpose.

???

Ms.Feather than flew us to Two Island where we climbed up Cape Brink. I caught a Psyduck and named her... I forgot what I named her, isn't that ironic? I forgot to write it down and now I'm kicking myself... But anyway, there's this Channeller who lives at the top of Cape Brink. She taught Frankie Hydro Cannon.

Artie

We took the Seagallop back to Vermillion City and then flew from there to Viridian City. Just off Viridian City is Route 22 were we faced off against Master. We trounced him soundly. I say "we" but Frankie and Bo did all the work. Izzy fought three Ratatta after that before we ran into a Mankey. I caught him and named him Artie.

Cam

We then began our journey through the gates of the Pokemon League. On the water there we ran into a Psyduck that Frankie Rapid Spinned out of existence. We then ran into a Fearow in the grass, which Frankie Bit out of existence. And finally we ran into a Primeape, which I caught. His name is Cam.

Next time: We brave Victory Road and flail as a good chunk of my team has issues with Onix.

Housekeeping

I am very much planning to review Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. tomorrow. I am also planning on updating my earlier Sleepy Hollow review because I was in a hurry when I posted it and forgot some things. There will also be some updates to the "Lists" page and, of course, the "Reviewed" page.

Nuzlocke - Day 9

Day 9

Continuing our perusing of the S.S. Anne, my team and I were ambushed quite unexpectedly by Master. We took a bit of strategic time beating the crap out of his Pokemon, rather than doing it quickly like we normally would. After defeating Master, we went and obtained Cut from the captain of the S.S. Anne. Kors is my current Cutting Pokemon.

Angelo, my Magikarp, finally reached level 15 and learned Tackle. He became just slightly more useful than we was before, but not by much.

My team and I then went and battled through the Vermilion City Gym. We trounced Lt. Surge and earned ourselves a Thunder Badge.

After defeating Lt. Surge, we decided to take a run through Diglett's Cave. This turned out to be a colossal mistake, at least as far as my team goes. Angelo the Magikarp died fighting the first Diglett we came across. Emmett the Mankey then killed that Diglett. Emmett was killed a few Digletts later. On our way back through Diglett's Cave after obtaining Flash, Ms.Feather just narrowly avoided being killed by a Dugtrio. If she hadn't known Whirlwind, Ms.Feather would have been toast!

On Route 11, I added a Spearow female to the team. Her name was Izzy. While training her/battling another trainer, Izzy was killed by a Magnemite. So... that was annoying. I'm back to just four Pokemon and kind of pissed off about it.

Nuzlocke - Day 8

Day 8

I've never really spent a heck of a lot of time running around Route 6 before. Today though, in order to train Hodgens, my Meowth, my team and I spent a ton of time running from Route 6 back to Cerulean City and then back to Route 6... over and over and over. Route Six yielded nothing except Meowths, Pidgeys, and Oddishes.

Once I decided I was bored of Route 6, we headed to Vermillion City. We obtained an Old Rod from the Fishing Guru and headed back to Route 6. I went fishing and caught a Magikarp. Hodgens killed the Magikarp before I had a chance to throw a Pokeball. Darn...

We then went back to Vermillion City and went fishing just off the coast. Again, I caught a Magikarp. This time, I got him in a Pokeball. His name is Angelo. My notes from today say this: "Kind of hoping I never have to use him. Ever."

Sadly, while battling on the S.S. Anne, Hodgens was killed due to the Poison Point of a Nidoran.

R.I.P. Hodgens

Ugh! I knew I'd jinxed it yesterday! So now Angelo has had to join my team. I'm doing my best to train him as quickly as I can. Lord knows a Gyarados is much more... everything than a Magikarp. Angelo hasn't even learned Tackle at this point!

On the bright side, Rimmer evolved into a Gloom today. We're still working our way through the S.S. Anne. Hopefully... no. Not going there today. We'll just leave it at that.

Nuzlocke Day 7

Day 7
As it turned out, my team was quite ready to take on Misty. As it also turns out, Oddish is awesome. Gotta lover that Poison Powder. Long (not really) story short, we earned ourselves a Cascade Badge.

On our initial trip down Route 5, my team encountered a Level 10 Meowth, who we caught and added to our team. Since the last two Pokemon we didn't catch and then killed were a bust, I'm really happy that Hodgens seems to be taking well to his training. I've already bumped him up a couple levels by killing a load of Ekans, Spearow, and Pidgeys. Hopefully, I'm not jinxing anything by talking about it...

All in all, I'd say we had a pretty successful time of it today.

Nuzlocke - Day 6

Day 6

So... I had no idea that Route 24 and Route 25 were connected pretty radically to each other until this play-through. That was slightly confusing. Luckily, I'd only run into Pidgeys while on Route 25 so... I didn't have to catch anything. That is, until the Abra showed up. Again, luckily, I caught him. My dad decided I should name him Bart (Because I enjoy the names my family members come up with for Pokemon. Sue me).

Sadly, Bart died after reaching only level 12. He was avenged, though, so that was good. Damn Rattata. I liked training Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam the last time I actually did that...

RIP Bart

The last stop on today's journey was the Cerulean City Gym. My team and I fought Swimmer Luis before heading back out to the Pokemon Center. It was pretty clear we weren't read to face the gym after Rimmer, Kors, and Emmett almost died in there. Ah well, another day.

Nuzlocke - Mt. Moon and Cerulean City

Day 5

Today, as we were running around inside Mt. Moon, Frankie evolved from a Squirtle into a Wartortle. And then Emmett and Ms.Feather got poisoned. I only had one Antidote on me as I cured Ms.Feather and ran like mad for the Pokemon Center at the entrance to Mt.Moon. I don't think I've ever run that hard or was that annoyed at Zubats and Geodudes as I was today. Luckily, we made it to the Pokemon Center before I ran out of Potions. That'll teach me to stock up when I only have four Antidotes.

On the way to Cerulean City, we met a Spearow. I would have caught him, but one Fury Attack from Kors killed him. That's okay, though, I'm not sure I would have been happy with two bird Pokemon on my team at the same time. Oh! We also gathered the Spiral Fossil from Mt. Moon.

In Cerulean City, Master showed up and almost murdered my entire team. I was rather annoyed at this point. I usually beat Master no problem. But that's with a full team and not just four Pokemon.

Ms.Feather evolved into Pidgeotto on the Nugget Bridge fighting Team Rocket recruiters. We then met the newest addition to our team, Rimmer the Oddish. I named him after my favorite character from Red Dwarf. I'm now in the process of getting Rimmer up to level with everyone else, so I'm killing a lot of other Oddishes and Pidgeys.

Nuzlocke Tombstones

Yesterday I decided to draw some tombstones for my fallen team members. They're just simple little things that have something representing the Pokemon and a little epitaph for them. I'll be adding to the gallery as more of my Pokemon die, as I'm sure they will...

Housekeeping

My family and I are going to see Wolverine tonight! I'm super excited because I really loved the first Wolverine movie and Hugh Jackman is awesome. I'll probably be reviewing that tomorrow, so keep an eye out.
